As a part of the central programme, the Rajshahi City Unit of Awami League held a Peace Rally and Procession in protest against the illegal hartal, blockade, Arson-terrorism and anarchy of BNP-Jamaat in front of Kumarpara AL office in the city on Thursday morning.
Presided over by Vice-President of Rajshahi City AL Badruzzaman Khayer and operated by AL leader Ismael Hossain, the Peace Rally was headed by the General Secretary of city AL Doublew Sarker.
Doublew Sarker in his speech declared to resist the illegal blockade and arson-terrorism in Rajshahi with the leaders and activists of the sister organisations Jubo League, Secchasebak League, Shramik League, Krishak League and Chhara League.
He further said, Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina was working tirelessly to develop the lot of the people of the country and the people of the country are also reaping its benefits. He added, while the Prime Minister was working relentlessly for the development of the country, the illegal blockade, hartal and fire-terrorism called by BNP-Jamaat was leading the country towards an unstable situation.
The AL was observing a Peace Rally to save the lives and properties of people against the violent activities of BNP-Jamaat. He mentioned that, he along with his party activists will unitedly work for the nominee with the Boat symbol and make it the winner.
The Peace Rally was attended, among others, by Rajshahi city AL Vice President Reazaul Islam Babul, Organising Secretary Mir Istaique Ahmed Limon, Robiul Islam, Syed Montaz Ahmed, Mujibur Rahman, Masud Ahmed, Arpan Kuram Dey, Alimul Hasan Swajon, Khairul Basar Shahin, Bipanna Sarker, Abdus Salam, Shahnewaz Sarker Zedu, Mahmud Ali, Goutam Das, Azizul Islam and Feeroz Khan Farhad.
