Agriculture Minister and Awami League presidium member Dr Md Abdur Razzaque mentioning Secretary General of BNP, Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir, said, ‘The people of this country are the foundation and strength of Awami League. Awami League has been struggling and working for the welfare of the people and improvement of living standards. The Awami League has no history of escaping from hundreds of oppressions. The Awami League has made the country independent, this party, its leaders and workers and party leaders will never leave the country and the people.’
The minister was speaking as the chief guest at a function to distribute financial aid cheques among the poor, helpless and destitute people at the Upazila Parishad auditorium in Dhanbari upazila of Tangail district on Wednesday.
The minister further said that BNP has always been a fugitive party. For the welfare of the country and the people of the country, and in times of trouble, they never came forward, but have fled. The group was founded at gunpoint, in the cantonment. They have no relationship with the people. They have never done anything for the welfare of the people. BNP just worked for rich merchants and opportunists. Thus, they have always been isolated, still isolated, and will remain so in the future.
Mentioning Mirza Fakhrul, the minister said, ‘BNP leaders will escape. BNP’s senior vice president has been running the team by remotely since fleeing abroad. This party will never again be accepted by the people of this country.’
The Minister further said that Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman’s daughter Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina has been by the side of the people in the midst of hundreds of dangers and adversities since she took charge of the party but never she bowed her head. She always prioritized the people of this country. For that very reason, all the people of the country are by her side.
