AL distributes 20,000 masks in Rangpur city

Rangpur district Awami League on Monday distributed 20,000 pieces of masks among the common people in Rangpur city to protect them from coronavirus infection.

Leaders of district AL distributed the masks at separate functions at different places of the city with the assistance of leaders of the district units of Mohila AL, BCL, Sramik League and its other associate bodies. President of district AL Mamtaz Uddin Ahmed inaugurated distribution of the masks at its office premises and Rangpur City Bazar areas. General Secretary of district AL Advocate Rezaul Karim Razu distributed the masks at Rangpur Court premises in the city.

Organising Secretary of district AL Touhidur Rahman Tutul distributed the masks at Central Bus Terminal, Ganeshpur Mour, Shapla Square, Grand Hotel Mour, Press Club premises, Zahaj Company Mour and Lions School and College premises.

Publicity and Publication Secretary of district AL Latifa Shawkat distributed the masks in Kachari Bazar area of the city.

Vice-presidents of district AL Joynal Abedin and Utpal Sarker, its Organising Secretary Wazedul Islam, Office Secretary Amin Sarker, Law Affairs Secretary Advocate Ziaul Hasan Zia, Cultural Affairs Secretary Advocate Atik Ul Alam Kallol, President of district Mohila AL Mortuza Begum and its General Secretary Advocate Zakia Sultana Choite, Vice-president of district JSL Faruk

Hossain, BCL leaders Sohel Rana Sony and Zinnat Hossain Lablu, attended the mask distribution functions. On the occasion, Advocate Rezaul Karim Razu said that the masks were distributed in the city as per direction given by Prime Minister and AL

President Sheikh Hasina to prevent the spread of COVID-19. “We have taken steps to distribute masks and awareness raising leaflets among the common people in all eight upazilas of the district,” he said. He also urged the common people not to become panicked, but abide by the health directives of the government to effectively prevent coronavirus.
