Meanwhile, it is learnt that Barrister Mizan Saeed, an independent candidate allegedly attacked and fired at people who participated in the campaign of the Eagle symbol, and the Eagle symbol candidate is obstructing the poll election campaign. In this situation, he expressed apprehension whether the election will be fair and peaceful or not.
In a press briefing at Cox's Bazar Press Club on Thursday morning, Barrister Mizan Saeed said that he is contesting as an independent candidate in Cox's Bazar-3 seat. Since the start of the election campaign, the candidate of the boat symbol and his people have been posing threats to the campaign of the Eagle symbol.
He said that there was an attack and firing on the Eagle Marker campaign in Ramu Jowarianala area on Wednesday evening. He alleged that the boat candidate directly led the attack. 5 people including UP Chairman Kamal Shamsuddin Ahmed Prince, a supporter of Eagle Marker, were injured in the attack.
In the press briefing, he said that earlier his election campaign vehicle was vandalized. In this situation, he demanded to create a peaceful environment in the election campaign by recovering illegal weapons.
According to the sources, various social welfare programs including poverty alleviation program, service and community empowerment, child protection, prevention of social degradation, social security program, and disability protection program are being implemented through the Department of Social Services.
