“We are going to celebrate the 50th birth anniversary of Bangladesh soon. However, Bangladesh has achieved another goal as Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina with her skillful leadership led Bangladesh to a developing nation. As Bangladesh was a Least Developed Country (LDC) earlier, achieving this status before the 50th anniversary makes this year notable for this country. Bangladesh is not a poor country anymore,” he added.

Information Minister also said that the people of Bangladesh achieved their freedom through the leadership of Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman in the Liberation War in 1971. From 21st February of 1952, people of this country became united by the vision of Bangabandhu.

“Many leaders in the history of Bangladesh dreamt for an independent country but it was Bangabandhu who achieved the freedom for all of us. He is the greatest Bengali due to his excellence,’ he further said.

Dr Hasan Mahmud also said that Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina prioritized the development of the country since Awami League came into the power. Bangladesh developed so quickly that Pakistan in all margin now stays behind Bangladesh. With her tactful decision, COVID-19 situation in our country is under control.

“Enough vaccines have come and people will gradually get the vaccine jabs. The government helped all forms of people during the pandemic. The farmers and laborers at the root level got incentive and relief goods in a regular basis. Clearly these steps are now paying off as no one died starving in this country during the pandemic,” he said.

He then urged the people to support the government to increase the speed of the ongoing development. He also talked to the journalists after the programmee.
