16 lakh 50 thousand taka financial assistance checks were distributed among the workers including three workers from Khulna, eight from Jashore, 11 from Satkhira and 19 from Bagerhat district from the Workers Welfare Fund under the initiative of Bangladesh Labor Welfare Foundation under the Ministry of Labor and Employment.
Divisional Commissioner Dr Md Anwar Hossain Hawladar handed over these checks to the workers of different classes and professions including helpless, sick and low income people at the Khulna Divisional Commissioner's Office premises on Tuesday morning. Director of Khulna Divisional Labor Department Md Mizanur Rahman was present during the distribution of checks.
105 helpless jute mill workers and their families in various districts of Khulna division and their families, workers of various classes and professions including low-income people, institutional and non-institutional workers have already received financial assistance of Tk 32 lakh 15 thousand in the third phase from the Workers Welfare Fund under the initiative of Bangladesh Workers Welfare Foundation under the Ministry of Labor and Employment.
