Agricultural Info Service wins National ICT Award

The Agricultural Information Service (AIS) under the Ministry of Agriculture has received the National Information and Communication Technology Award 2020 for its outstanding contribution in the category of Information Technology / ICT Use (Best Institution) in Agriculture.

Kartik Chandra Chakraborty, Director of Agricultural Information Service, received the award at the closing ceremony of the three-day information technology based festival 'Digital World 2020' at the Multipurpose Hall of Bangladesh Film Archive in Sher-e-Bangla Nagar on Friday night.

Adviser to the Prime Minister on Private Industry and Investment Salman F Rahman, MP, was virtually present as the chief guest at the closing and award ceremony of the programme.

State Minister for ICT Zunaid Ahmed Palak, Chairman of the Parliamentary Committee on the Ministry of Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology AKM Rahmatullah MP, Senior Secretary for ICT NM Ziaul Alam, Executive Director of Bangladesh Computer Council Parthapratim Dev, BASIS President Syed Almas Kabir and others were present at this time.

7th edition of Digital World 2020 was held on the virtual platform due to the Covid-19 situation. This year the theme of the festival was 'Socially Distanced, Digitally Connected'.
