With the aim of increasing agricultural production, improving professional relationships among stakeholders involved in marketing and strengthening linkages within the local market system, a special agricultural fair has been organized in the fertile agricultural region of Ramu in Cox’s Bazar.
On Tuesday, with the support of the Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO) of the United Nations and at the initiative of the Center for Natural Resource Studies (CNRS), a day-long agricultural product fair was held in the premises of the Agricultural Extension Office of Ramu Upazila.

Participants included farmers, agricultural input sellers, seed companies, vegetable buyers, and government and non-government institutions.
The three Agricultural Production and Marketing Center Cooperative Societies of Ramu Upazila took part in the fair and displayed their activities, services, and significant roles in supporting farmers with production, technology adoption, local and camp market linkages, and ensuring fair prices.
Among private companies, Ispahani Seed Limited and United Seed participated, exhibiting their advanced technologies and seeds, and introducing farmers to climate-friendly agricultural production techniques. Additionally, the Ramu Upazila Agricultural Extension Department, Agricultural Information Service, and NGOs such as Sushilon and Mukti Cox’s Bazar joined the fair.
A quiz competition and an open discussion and experience-sharing session were held for farmers, wholesalers, and other participants.
