Agent banking outlet of Bank Asia opened at remote village of Jhenaidah

Agent banking outlet of Bank Asia was inaugurated at Sadhuhati Bazer of Hakimpur union under Shailkupa upazila in Jhenaidah on Monday.

As strict lockdown was prevailing, the inauguration ceremony was held through a milad mahfil at local mosque where local people, business community leaders were present maintaining social distances.

The bank outlet is expected to serve the people when the people, especially, the businessmen and poor people were compelled to lend money from the money lenders in the locality, said the business community leaders and common people.

 Businessman Ibrahim Hossain of Sadhuhati Bazer said they were transacting money with a bank at Shailkupa upazila headquarters about five kilometres form the area. It was risky for them when they were moving on roads with cash. But the outlet of Bank Asia at Sadhuhati Bazer has been helping a lot when they are depositing and receiving money whenever they need.

Rokaiya Yesmin Barsha, a client of the bank when contacted said she has been maintaining an account with the bank as it has been helping the businessmen and farmers community in remote village of Jhenaidah. The people of the locality have been availing fulltime banking services like deposit, withdraw, utility bills payment and so ones from the online banking facility enriched institution staying at the houses any time. It will also encourage the women entrepreneurship in remote villages, Barsha added.

Bank Asia Sadhuhati Bazer outlet manager Mineesha Shenanee when contacted said they have been providing every available service to the clients. The number of the clients has been increasing everyday, she added.

Hakimpur union parishad chairman Qamruzzaman Jiku when contacted admitted that the activities of the outlet of Bank Asia, said it will play role to develop the socio-economic state of the people and save then from the evil slap of the money lenders.
