The "AF Mujibur Rahman Gold Medal" was awarded to twelve deserving students from Dhaka University's (DU) Department of Mathematics and Department of Applied Mathematics for their exceptional performance in the BS (Hons) and MS exams.
Presenting the gold medal to the students as the chief guest at a function today, February 5, 2024, at the AF Mujibur Rahman Ganit Bhaban auditorium is Prof. Dr. A S M Maksud Kamal, Vice-Chancellor of Dhaka University.
Pro-Vice Chancellor (Academic) Prof. Dr. Sitesh Chandra Bachar, Treasurer Prof. Momtaz Uddin Ahmed, Dean of the Faculty of Science Prof. Dr. Md. Abdus Samad, and Trustee of the AF Mujibur Rahman Foundation Prof. Dr. Perween Hasan addressed the gathering as special guests.

Prof. Dr. A. S. M Maksud Kamal, Vice-Chancellor of Dhaka University, congratulated the deserving students on their Gold Medal and encouraged them to apply their knowledge for the nation's socioeconomic advancement and the betterment of humankind. He stated that mathematics is important in all areas of our lives. He urged the students to contribute significantly to Bangladesh's increased intelligence.
Kazi Hafizur Rahman, Najifatun Naher, Ayantika Ghosh, Shobha Islam, Kazi Mehedi Mohammad, Md. Islamul Alam, Trishna Datta, Sadia Anjum Jumana, Md. Anower Hossain, Apurbo Roy Chowdhury, Trishna Datta (MS), and Lamisa Kibria Keka are the recipients of the AF Mujibur Rahman Foundation Gold Medal.
