ADP implementation progress of Industries Ministry is 63 percent

The implementation progress of development projects under implementation in the Annual Development Program (ADP) of FY 2021-2022 by the Ministry of Industries and its departments / agencies till January 2022 is about 63 percent which is more than the implementation progress at the national level.

This information was given at a meeting to review the implementation progress of the projects included in the annual development program in the conference room of the Ministry of Industries on Sunday. Industries Minister Nurul Majid Mahmud Humayun was the chief guest and State Minister for Industries Kamal Ahmed Majumder was the special guest at the review meeting chaired by Industries Secretary Zakia Sultana. Also present were concerned officials of the Ministry of Industries, heads of various agencies and corporations under the Ministry and various project managers.

It was informed at the meeting that there are a total of 33 projects in the Annual Development Program of the Ministry of Industries in the fiscal year 2021-2022. Of these, 30 investment projects, two technical assistances and one self-financing are under implementation. 

In all, the allocation for these projects is Tk 4,066 crore. Of this, Tk 1,203 crore has been allocated for the GoB sector, Tk 2,817 crore for the project assistance sector and Tk 46 crore for the company’s own finance sector. 

Till January 2022, a total of Tk 2,565.36 crore has been spent on the projects. Speaking as the chief guest at the meeting, Industries Minister Nurul Majid Mahmud Humayun said, “The progress made by the Ministry of Industries in implementing ADP till January 2022 is satisfactory. 

However, the pace of work needs to be increased. He urged to complete the work of the project in time through coordination.”

The Industries Minister further said, “Specific targets have not been achieved yet. He directed to further strengthen the monitoring system of the project. BSCIC is a big organization, so everyone in the organization has to work harder,” he said adding that, “Every person / organization has to be held accountable. Otherwise the organization cannot be made profitable.” 

He called upon all to work together to strengthen the hand of Prime Minister in the path shown by Bangabandhu.
