As part of the 2024–25 fiscal year ADB-funded project, educational materials, sports equipment, sewing machines, and health supplies were distributed across various institutions and communities in Jhalakathi. The distribution ceremony took place on Thursday afternoon at the conference hall of Jhalakathi Sadar Upazila Parishad.
Deputy Commissioner Ashrafur Rahman attended the event as the chief guest, with Upazila Nirbahi Officer Farhana Yasmin presiding over the program.
Among other speakers were Additional Deputy Commissioner Md. Kawsar Hossain, Upazila Health & Family Planning Officer Dr. Rifat Hossain, and LGED Upazila Engineer Abdullah Hel Baki.
As part of the initiative, sports equipment was provided to 45 secondary and 15 primary schools, benches were distributed to 4 secondary schools and 4 madrasas, health supplies were delivered to 10 community clinics, and sewing machines were handed over to 10 underprivileged women to promote self-reliance.
The event was organised by the Jhalakathi Sadar Upazila Administration.
