The Adam Smith Fellowship is a program jointly sponsored by Liberty Fund, Inc. and the Mercatus Center. Graduate students in Ph.D. programs at any university, in any discipline—including but not limited to economics, philosophy, political science, and sociology—are eligible to apply for Adam Smith Fellowships. These scholarships are intended to expose students to important political economics philosophers that they might not have otherwise encountered during their graduate studies and to foster critical engagement with them. Thus, Adam Smith Fellows participate in workshops and seminars on the Austrian, Virginia, and Bloomington schools of political economy during three weekends during the academic year and one week during the summer. Fellows will become part of a network of experts, alumni, and students from Mercatus engaged in cutting-edge research in modern political economy.

Qualification Standards:
• Candidates must be enrolled in a PhD program at any university, in any field of study.
• Candidates must have a minimum GPA of 3.5 and a track record of academic achievement.
