ACC sues Rangpur MCH principal over graft case

Anti Corruption Commission (ACC) has sued Rangpur Medical College Hospital principal Dr Noor Islam and five others on charges of embezzling Tk 4.50 crore. Deputy Assistant Director of ACC Head Office Ferdous Rahman filed the case with its integrated office in Rangpur on Thursday.

The other accused are: contractor Jaher Uddin Sarkar, owner of Bengal Scientific Company, his father Abdus Sattar, son Ahsan Habib, brother-in-law Asadur Rahman and the hospital's Community Medicine Department's Assistant Prof Dr M Sarwat Hossain. According to the case statement, the accused embezzled nearly Tk 4.50 crore during the period of March 21-June 30, 2018 through corruption.
