ACC interrogates PWD chief engineer

Anti-Corruption Commission on Thursday interrogated an additional chief engineer of Public Works Department (PWD) in connection with his alleged link with casino kingpins and tender manipulations. According to the ACC sources, PDW Additional chief engineer Mosleuddin Ahmed was called to face ACC investigators at the ACC headquarters in the capital.

ACC also called Md Jamal Uddin, owner of the M Jamal & Company. Earlier on January 13, ACC issued summons to both of the corrupt suspects. ACC Director Syed Iqbal Hossain sent the summons. As per the summons, they went to the ACC head office. According to the ACC sources, both Mosleuddin and Jamal are known as the syndicate member of the GK Shamim, who was earlier arrested by the anti-crime elite force Rapid Action Battalion ( RAB) on September 20.

On September 30, ACC decided to investigate about the huge wealth of GK Shamnim and his associates. On the same day, ACC formed a seven member investigation committee headed by Syed Iqbal. On October 21, Mohammad Salauddin, deputy director of ACC lodged a case against contactor GK Shamim.

A Dhaka Court also granted him remand. He was interrogated by ACC during his remand period. During his interrogation, he disclosed several names including Mosleuddin and Jamal.
