Abdul Kader no more

Popular actor Abdul Kader is no more. The country's veteran actor died at the capital's Evercare Hospital at 8:20 am on Saturday, December 26, after battling cancer of the pancreas.

Abdul Kader's body was first taken from the hospital to his residence Mirpur DOHS. He lived there with his family. His first namaz-e-janaza was held at DOHS Jame Mosque after Zohar.

From there, the body was taken to the premises of Bangladesh Shilpakala Academy in the capital's Segunbagicha. People of all walks of life paid homage to him there. Abdul Kader was paid homage at Shilpakala Academy from 3:30 pm.He was buried in Banani after Maghrib prayers on Saturday.

The death of this actor has cast a shadow of mourning. President Abdul Hamid and Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina also expressed their condolences.s

Abdul Kader was born in Sonarang village of Tongibari police station in Munshiganj district. His father was the late Abdul Jalil. Mother is late Anwara Khatun. He is the father of a son and a daughter. His wife’s name isKhairunnesa Kader. Kaderleft behind numerous admirers and friends, including grandchildren.

Abdul Kader holds a bachelor's and master's degree in economics from Dhaka University. His career begun with teaching. He taught economics at Singair College and Lohajong College. After working as an executive in BTP advertising company, he has been working for the international company 'Bata' since 1989. He was there for 35 years. 

He acted in Rabindranath Tagore's 'Dakghar' as Amal. From 1972-74, for three consecutive years he was the Drama Secretary of the Mohsin Hall Student Parliament of Dhaka University. 

Abdul Kader, who was awarded as one of the members of the champion team in the university general knowledge program 'BolunDekhi' produced by Bangladesh Television, was also a member of the executive council of DaksuNatyachakra till 1975. He has been a member of the theatre troupe since 1973 and has been the joint editor for four years and the general secretary for six years. He started acting in television from 1972 and radio drama from 1973.

Abdul Kader's first serial drama on television was 'EshoGolperDeshe'. Abdul Kader was the Vice President of the Television NattoshilpiONattokarSangshad (Tenashinas), the only organization of playwrights in Bangladesh Television. He was a regular performer on popular magazine shows, including Ittadi.

He has acted in more than a thousand exhibitions of about 30 productions in the theater. His notable plays are 'Payer AwaazPawaJay', 'EkhonoKritodash', 'Tomra', 'Spardha', 'Dui Bon', 'MerajFakirer Ma'.

Kader has acted in more than two thousand plays on television. His notable plays are 'Keu KothayNei', 'Matir Kole', 'NokhotrerRaat', 'Shirshabindu', 'SabujSathi', 'Tin Tekka', 'Yuvraj', 'AgunLaga Sandhya', 'Package Sangbad', 'Sabuj Chaya', 'Kusum KusumBhalobasha', 'Neetu TomakeBhalobasi', 'AmaderChotoNadi', 'Dulabhai', 'Oggan Party', 'Mubaraker Eid', 'Bahurupi', 'Ei Makeup', 'Dhuli Bari','Shat Goyenda', 'EkJonome', 'Jol Pore PataNore', 'Khan BahadurerTin Chele' etc. He has also acted in films. Apart from acting, the successful actor has also done several commercials.
