Naogaon Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Abdul Awal has been appointed as the Chittagong new Deputy Commissioner (DC). Current Deputy Commissioner Farida Khanam has been transferred as Deputy Secretary of the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change.
This information was revealed in two separate notifications of the Ministry of Public Administration on Sunday.
According to the notification, Naogaon DC Mohammad Abdul Awal has been appointed as DC of Chittagong, Deputy Secretary of the Health, Education and Family Welfare Department Mohammad Anwar Hossain has been appointed as DC of Narsingdi and Deputy Secretary of the Secondary and Higher Education Department Monira Haque has been appointed as DC of Naogaon. It has also been mentioned that this order, issued in the public interest, will come into effect immediately.
In another notification, the current Deputy Commissioner Farida Khanam has been transferred as Deputy Secretary of the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change and Narsingdi Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Rashed Hossain Chowdhury has been transferred as Deputy Secretary of the Local Government Department.
It is known that the Ministry of Public Administration issued a notification appointing the current Deputy Commissioner Farida Khanam as the Deputy Commissioner of Chittagong on September 9 last year. She joined Chittagong as the first woman Deputy Commissioner on September 12.
