Reigning Champions Dhaka Mariner Youngs Club will take on title contender Abahani Limited in the 13th Club Cup Hockey Final at Maulana Bhashani National Hockey Stadium at 6:00 p.m. on Saturday.

Abahani registered their victory over arch-rival Mohammedan Sporting Club (MSC) by 3-2 in the semi-final at the same venue on Thursday. In the second semi-final, holders Dhaka Mariner Youngs Club set the final tie after an 8-4 win over Usha Krira Chakra on the same day.

Abahani remain unbeaten so far as they reached the semi-finals as Group B champions with 5-1 and 6-2 wins over Ajax Sporting Club and Usha KC, respectively.

Mariner emerged as Group A champions to reach the semi-finals, defeating Mohammedan 5-1 and Bangladesh Police 2-0 in the group stage.

Earlier, Dhaka Mariner Youngs Club, studded with three Indian players, emerged as Group A champions to reach the semifinals with an all-win record, crushing five-time champions Dhaka Mohammedan SC by a 5-1 goal in their last group match Tuesday afternoon.

Mohammedan SC suffered a frustrating, huge defeat despite recruiting three foreign players in their squad—one each from Australia, New Zealand, and the Netherlands.

Dhaka Abahani Limited, studded with three Indian players, clinched the Group B title to reach the semifinals with an all-win record, outplaying one Indian-based old Dhaka hockey giant, Usha KC, by a 6-2 goal in their last group match Tuesday evening.
