Abahani keen to get back winning way

Former champions Abahani Krira Limited are keen to get back their winning way when they will take on Bangladesh Police FC in the ongoing ABG Bashundhara Bangladesh Premier League (BPL) football today.      

Abahani lost to Bashundhara Kings in their previous match and are desperate to return to their winning way and also looking forward to extend their unbeaten run against Bangladesh Police FC when they won all their matches in their previous seven meetings in the league and two sides will meet for with times.  

It will be the sixth round of the league for both sides at Rafiq Uddin Bhuiyan Stadium, Mymensingh, the match will take place at 3:00 p.m.   

Bangladesh Police are in third place with seven points, while with as many points Abahani are on fourth in goal difference. Bangladesh Police played out a goalless draw in their last outings against Rahmatgonj MFS at Shaheed Bir Sreshtho Flight Lieutenant Matiur Rahman Stadium, Munshiganj. On the other hand, Abahani suffered 0-2 defeat to Bashundhara Kings at their home venue Sheikh Fazlul Haque Mani Stadium, Gopalganj on January 26.  In their last meeting in the second leg of the Premier League in last season, Abahani triumphed 4-1 win at Dhirendranath Stadium, Comilla last season when Raphael Augusto, Foysal Ahmed Fahim, Mohamed Sohel Rana and Emeka Ogbugh were on target.  In the day’s other match Rahmatgonj MFS will take on Sheikh Russel Krira Chakra at Bashundhara Kings Arena at 3:00 p.m. 

Rahmatganj MFS are still unbeaten after playing four matches, while SK Russel look to end their four-match Premier League winless draught.

Rahmatganj MFS are in sixth place with five points, while Sheikh Russel also earned five points but are on eighth position. 

Sheikh Russel played out a 0-0 draw in their previous match at home ground against Fortis FC to remain winless in four matches at a stretch.
