96,337 patients recover from Covid-19 so far in Rajshahi

With the healing of twelve more patients from the Covid-19 on Friday, the total recovery count in the division rose to 96,337 since the pandemic began in March, 2020. Ten more people have tested positive for the deadly virus in four districts of Rajshahi division on the day, raising the caseload to 99,999.

The new positive cases are showing a significant falling trend compared to the previous day's figure of 52, Dr Habibul Ahsan Talukder, divisional director of Health, said.

The death toll remained steady at 1,692, including 687 in Bogura, 327 in Rajshahi with 209 in its city and 175 in Natore as no new fatality was reported during the last 24 hours, he said. 

Besides, all the positive cases of Covid-19 have, so far, been brought under treatment while 23,221 were kept in isolation units of different dedicated hospitals for institutional quarantine. Of them, 19,988 have been released.

Meanwhile, three more people have been sent to home and institutional quarantine afresh while three others were released from isolation during the same period. Of the ten new infected cases, four were detected in Pabna, followed by three in Bogura, two in Chapainawabganj and one in Rajshahi city. With the newly detected patients, the district-wise break-up of the total cases now stands at 28,443 in Rajshahi including 22,998 in its city, 5,689 in Chapainawabganj, 6,472 in Naogaon, 8,465 in Natore, 4,761 in Joypurhat, 21,842 in Bogura, 11,446 in Sirajganj and 12,881 in Pabna.

A total of 1,15,384 people have, so far, been kept under quarantine since March 10 last year to prevent community transmission of the deadly Covid-19. Of them, 1,14,284 have, by now, been released as they were given clearance certificates after completing their 14-day quarantine.
