To prevent corona within the last 72 hours a total of 87 returnees have been sent to home quarantine in Shatkhira by the health ministry. From Tuesday morning 12pm to Thursday 2pm 87 people was sent to home quarantine. With this in the last 3 days, these people were sent to home quarantine due to cold, cough and fever.
Among them 19 in Sodor Upazila, 12 in Asuani, 19 in Kaliganj, 2 in Debhata, 24 on Shamnagar and 11 on Taltola were taken in home quarantine. Dr Hussain Safait Civil Surgeon Shatkhira said that 87 returnees already kept in home quarantine, they are all India, Malaysia, Italy and Singapore returnees. But the number of returnee from India is more. This number might increase but they are keeping them in proper surveillance.
He also said that these people were instructed not to go out of home. Local health ministry, Union Parishad and police unitedly created a committee which is keeping them in surveillance all the time. If anyone disobey these instructions then through Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) they will be bought to justice. However, there was no corona patient in Shatkhira yet.
District committee held an emergency meeting on Wednesday evening at the District Administrators office. In the meeting they talked about the procedure needed for preventing corona virus. He also addressed all the ward, Union committee, Upazila health and family planning officers and police officers to keep effective surveillance to prevent corona.
