A number of 84 more people were tested positive for coronavirus during the last 24 hours till Friday in the district after testing 409 samples at Bogura TMSS Medical College Hospital COVID-19 PCR laboratory, SZRMC Covid-19 PCR laboratory and rapid antigen and Genexpert testing centers, reports BSS.
The infection rate is about 20.58 percent in the district, said Dr. Sajjad-ul-Haq, medical officer of Bogura Civil Surgeon Office. The total number of infected people in the district stood at 20,133 while the recovery cases stood at 18,517, the health official told BSS.
A total of 159 patients have so far recovered from the deadly virus in the last 24 hours till Friday there.
Meanwhile, three more persons died with corona virus infection during the period, raising the total number of deaths to 612 in the district, he said. Among the infected people, 1,004 are now undergoing treatment at various designated hospitals and others at home quarantine under the supervision of doctors from their respective upazila health complexes, Dr Sajjad said.
The health expert of the district urged all to follow the health rules strictly and use masks to prevent the spread of the lethal virus.
