Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) has arrested eight members of a robber gang while they were taking preparation for committing robbery in the city's Uttara area on Wednesday.
The arrestees have been identified as Shuvo, Md Faridul Islam alias Farid, Salman, Miraz alias Abul Kalam, Md Hasanuzzaaman alias Dukhu Mia, Ajmot Ali, Rubel Mia and Md Al Amin alias Mahim. Acting on a tip-off, a team of DMP arrested the robbers as they were taking preparation in front of RSR CNG filling at Uttara-6, said Muhammad Masud Alam, officer-in-charge (OC) of Uttara West police station. The law enforcers also recovered five knives from their possession.
Of the arrestees, Farid, Salman and Miraj are accused in different charges, including robbery.
