A total of 616 more people have tested positive for Covid-19 in Chattogram district in the last 24-hour till Friday. The infection rate is 24.18 percent, reports BSS.
The number of COVID-19 cases speedily raised to 93,864 as 616 more persons were reported Covid-19 positive after testing 2547 samples in the district.
Among the newly detected patients, 367 are from Chattogram city and 249 from different upazilas of the district, hospital sources said.
Among the total infected persons, 69,041 are the residents of the port city and the rest 24,843 are residents of different upazilas of the district. The number of coronavirus (COVID-19) recovery cases reached the 60.241 mark in Chattogram district Chattogram district with the recovery of 541 more patients on Thursday,” Dr Rabbi said, adding that the percentage of recovery rate stands at 64.10.
The death toll from the virus reached 1,111 after eight fatalities was reported in the district, said Dr Sheikh Fazle Rabbi, civil surgeon of Chattogram.
Among the reported fatalities, 643 were the residents of the port city and the rest 468 were from different upazilas of the district, he said.
A total of 4822 infected patients are now undergoing treatment at designated hospitals here, the health official mentioned.
