8,000 people got Covid jabs in Tarash

As many as 8,000 men, women and students were vaccinated against coronavirus in eight unions of Tarash upazila of Sirajganj.

The first dose vaccination program was inaugurated on Saturday (February 26) at 26 centers in eight unions of the upazila under the first dose corona vaccination of one crore people of the country.

Hadiul Islam, a health volunteer (MHV) working under the Upper Sylhet Community Clinic in Talam Union of the upazila, said those between the ages of 12 and 17 have been vaccinated at the upazila land office. Shaila Parveen, a health volunteers (MHV) at the Vyat Community Clinic in Naogaon Union of the upazila, said, “We, the MHVs, have been vaccinated in every block above the age of 18 in their respective areas.”

Tarash Upazila Health Complex Health and P.P. Monowar Hossain said the first dose of coronavaccine has been given to 26 centers in eight unions of Tarash upazila like the rest of the country.

He also said that there is sufficient stock of vaccines.

Earlier in the morning, vaccination program was inaugurated at Bastul Community Clinic in Baruhas Union of the upazila by Jatiya Sangsad Secretariat Secretary KM Abdus Salam, Tarash UNO Md. Mejbaul Karim, newly elected UP Chairman Moinul Haque and others.
