70,000 Yaba pills seized in Shahpari Islands

The Coast Guard members seized 70 thousand pieces of yaba by raiding the Shahporir Island of Teknaf in Cox’s Bazar.  However, they could not arrest anyone in this incident.

Lt Commander Khandaker Munif Taqi, media officer of the Coast Guard Headquarters, gave this information on Saturday noon.

He said that based on intelligence information, it is known that a shipment of drugs from Myanmar will enter Bangladesh through Shahporir Island under Teknaf Police Station. Than members of e Coast Guard conducted an operation in the Jhowban area adjacent to the west para embankment of Shahporir Island in Shahpari Teknaf, the BCG outpost of Shahporir Teknaf, at around 2:00 pm on Friday. During the raid, two men left a plastic bag and fled the area quickly. Later, Coast Guard members recovered the sack and searched and seized 70 thousand pieces of yaba.

 Later, Yaba tablets were handed over to Teknaf Model Police Station for further legal action.
