The Police Bureau of Investigation (PBI) in a drive in different districts arrested seven professional snatchers who involved snatching in disguise of the law enforcer’s name.
The arrested are identified as Saiful Islam,49, Nur Islam,36, Md. Russel,30, Md. Roton,36, Md. Babul Hossain,43, Shahriar,31, and Md. Salauddin.
Police super Md. Monirul Islam of Narayanganj PBI in a media briefing claimed that all arrested seven are professional snatchers and was involved with a robbery on Dhaka-Chattagram Highway that looted 38 lac taka of a gold-trader on February 21,2021. The victim Poritosh Chandra Dhar then filed a case with Siddhirganj police station that was shifted to PBI for investigation after an application by the plaintiff.
Police said that the additional inspector general of PBI Bonoj Kumar supervised the all investigation process.
