7 Covid deaths in 24 hrs

Bangladesh registered seven more deaths in 24 hours from Covid-19 till 8am Wednesday. The total number of deaths has reached 27,841 with the latest figure.

The country recorded 306 new infections in the meantime taking the total number of people infected to 1,568,563, according to a press release issued by the Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) on Wednesday.

For the latest data, the current positivity rate stands at 1.53 percent and the overall positivity rate stands at 15.26 percent.

The death rate now stands at 1.77 percent in the country, added the release.

Among the seven deceased, three were men and four were women. Of the deceased, three were from Dhaka, two from Khulna, and one each from Rajshahi and Chattogram. 

A total of 19,951 samples were tested across the country till 8am Wednesday. 

Some 288 Covid-19 patients have recovered during this period. A total of 1,532,468 people have recovered from the virus so far and the recovery rate stands at 97.70 percent.

As of Wednesday, 4,982,121 people died of Covid-19 across the world and 245,417,290 have been infected so far, according to Worldometer.
