68 returnees in Pabna placed in home-quarantine

As many as 68 returnees in Pabna district have been placed in home-quarantine and an expatriate was  fined Tk 5000 for violating government laws in Pabna on Thursday. Meanwhile, no coronavirus patient was identified in Pabna district till Thursday.

A Malaysian expatriate was fined Tk 5,000 by a mobile court on Thursday noon for ignoring the government instructions for maintaining a 14-day mandatory home quarantine on arrival from abroad.

Civil Surgeon of Pabna Dr Mehedi Iqbal said 68 returnees in Pabna district have been placed under home-quarantine. Among them, 14 members of the same family.

An isolation ward has been opened for the corona affected patients in Pabna. However, newly built 4 storied building of Amena Mansur Girls High School of Arifpur has been declared as the Isolation center, he added.

UNO of Pabna Sadar Joynal Abedin said two separates teams from Upazila Administration are enquiring on home-quarantine people. He seeks co-operation from local people in this connection.
