Judge of Rajshahi Cyber Tribunal Ziaur Rahman has awarded 66-year old rapist Alamin alias Akil 14 years of rigorous imprisonment and a fine of Tk-10 lakh or to suffer one year more imprisonment for violating two young girls and posting the videos of the rape scenes through internet and social media.
Rapist Al-Amin is a resident of Chadai village under Boraigram upazila of Natore district. He is absconding. The case against him was filed in 2016 when he was 69-year old. According to court sources, Alamin treated local people through Herbal medicines. He raped a 14-year aged girl by offering her drugs for recovery of failure in love on October-23, 2015. Later, he continually raped the girl.
On November-15, the same year, he raped another 13-year aged girl by offering her herbal treatment. He also shot videos of the rape scenes and threatened both the rape victims that they would die if they informed the incident of rapes to any other else. He also ordered both the rape victims to visit him regularly but those victims did not obey his instructions. As a result, rapist Alamin posted the videos of the rape scenes to various social media including the internet and the mobile phones.
Aftermath of the incident, father of one of the victims filed a case under Women and Child Repression Repeal court under section-54 of Information Technology Act with Boraigram police station. Later the case was transferred to Rajshahi Cyber Tribunal. Judge of RCT, however, awarded the punishment for posting the videos of rape scene only the case for rape is continuing under Women and Child Repression Repeal Act at Natore court, informed Ismat Ara, Attorney for the plaintiff.
