62,000 aspirants to vie against 2305 seats at IU entry test

Over 62,000 aspirants complete their registration process to get admission into the Islamic University (IU) in Kushtia against 2305 seats for honours courses under this 2019-20 academic sessions.

The online application process for the entry test began on September 2 and ended at Tuesday while more 61,942 seekers applied for vying in the tests under four units, IU computer centre said on Wednesday.

Some 2,223 admission seekers applied for ‘A’ unit against 240 seats for getting admission into Al-Quran & Islamic Studies, Al-Hadith & Islamic Studies and Dawah & Islamic Studies departments.

A total of 27, 637 aspirants completed registration process for ‘B’ unit against 1065 seats getting admission under Social Science faculty and Arts faculty for 14 subjects.

Under ‘C’ unit, around 8,930 applicants applied against 450 seats for getting admission into Accounting, Management, Marketing, Finance and Banking, Tourism and Hospitality Management and Human Resource  Management department.

Some 23,152 admission seekers applied to vie in ‘D’ unit against 550 seats for getting admission under Science faculty, Engineering Technology faculty and Biological Science faculty and against 11 departments.

Around 27 aspirants will compete to get chance against per seat of the university in this year.

The admission tests will begin on from November 4 and it will continue till November 8.

IU Registrar (In charge) SM Abdul Latif said the unit wise admission schedule will be published soon on the university website www.iu.ac.bd. 

Vice Chancellor of the university, Prof Dr M Harun-Ur-Rashid Askari said the admission tests will be held through hundred percent corruptions free environment and transparency.

However, meritorious students of the country will get the opportunities to admit into the university, he added.
