A team of CTTC conducted  an anti-militant special operation in different parts of the country including Sayedabad Bus Terminal, Chattogam and TeknafTeknaf. The

CTTC arrested these six militants on Sunday’s drive.

During their primary interrogation, the militants admitted that they were united for militancy using  social media and online based apps. They were hiding  inTeknaf for carrying out militant activities. Earlier, they were trained along with their local cohorts.

According to the CTTC officials,  Abdur Rob left for Saudi-Arabia last June in 2019 after studying at a Qawmi madrasa in Teknaf. While staying in Saudi Arabia, he was inspired to join jihad seeing various jihadi posts and videos online, said the release.

Rob was working as a local coordinator and bringing everyone together online to make Sharia-based Bangladesh state through Jihad. Later, they got acquainted with a Bangladeshi who lives abroad and established contact via audio-video calls.

He then introduced everyone with the Bangladeshi militant leader in Libya and a local man from Teknaf. It was decided that Abdur Rob, Shamim, Sakib, Nadim, Saeed and others who were willing to migrate will first go to Teknaf and receive training through their local associates for waging jihad for the establishment of Islamic rule in Bangladesh.

Abdur Rob arrived in Bangladesh on November 22 in 2022 and rented a house for planning and counselling.

CTTC filed a case with Jatrabari police station against the arrested militants  under the Anti-Terrorism Act.
