At least six people, including four members of same family, sustained burn injuries in gas cylinder fire at Satkaniaon Thursday night, reports BSS.
The injured are Delwar Hossain, 56, Khaleda Akter, 40, Helal Uddin, 35, Shahnewaz, 26, Syed Ahmed, 65, and Abdus Shukkur 38, Saiful Alam Sohel, councilor of ward 6 of Satkania municipality, said. Among them, 80 to 90 percent of the bodies of Delwar, Khaleda, Shahnewaz and Helal have been burnt. The condition of four people is critical, 80 to 90 percent of them have been burnt, said assistant sub-inspector Shilabrata Barua of Chattogram Medical College Hospital police outpost.
Saiful Alam Sohel said the fire originated at the kitchen of one Syed Ahmed around 10pm on Thursday.
Being informed, police and fire fighters rushed to the spot and rescued the victims.
