6 held from border

The Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) detained six Bangladeshi nationals on Thursday night when they were trying to cross the Bangladeshi border without any valid papers.

Further, the three wheeler driver Uzzal Mia, 25, son of Ruhul Amin of Baghadanga  was hiding sensing the presence of the border guards leaving his vehicle. The detainees were handed over to Moheshpur police station under Bangladesh Passport Act of 1973.

BGB 58 battalion assistant director Nazrul Islam Khan said the BGB men detained the six including three women and a child from Napa Rishipara, about 3 kilometres inside the country. 

The detaineees are- Anwar  Talukder, 24, son of Abual Talukder, Anwar’s wife Mosammat Golapsha, 20, their 18 month aged son Ahan of Chhotolalbunia Imran Hossain, 21, son of Abbas Sharif, village Hugalpati, Taslima Begum, 25, wife of Khokan Shikder of village Rajapur and  Reshma Begum, 26, wife of Shariful Jamadder of Khontakata village in Sarankhola upazila in Bagerhat.

The BGB official said they challenged the persons who were trying to crooss Bangladeshi border to enyter in neigboring India could not produce any paper about their journey. Later they were detained and handed over to local police. They brder guards are hunting the driver whoo carried them in a cotract to dispatch them in to India.
