Chittagong City Corporation (CCC) has fined six companies of the city Tk 33,000 for not writing 60 percent Bengali on the signboards. CCC Executive Magistrate Marufa Begum Nelly led the operation on Sunday.
CCC public relations officer Kalam Chowdhury said the CCC had fined him for not writing the sign board in Bengali as per the instructions. The Eliana Hotel and Suite on Station Road was fined Tk 7,000, Gentleman on the ground floor of New Market Tk 4,000, Gentle Park Tk 4,000, Artex Tk 4,000, Blue Moon Tk 3,000, Traffic Tk 3,000, Infinity Tk 4,000 and Pride Showroom Tk 4,000.
During the conduct of the court, the magistrate was assisted by the officers and employees of the concerned department of the CCC and members of the Chittagong Metropolitan Police.
