6,000 students in Raojan get scholarships

‘Let education be the path of light, let the future Bangladesh be built properly’- with this theme, Alhaj Jasim Uddin Foundation founder and chairman Alhaj Mohammad Jasim Uddin, an expatriate businessman from the United Arab Emirates, has provided education scholarships-2025 among 6,000 students in Noapara under Raojan upazila in Chattogram district.

The amount of the total scholarship is Tk over one crore for one year of education

The day-long scholarship program was held on Monday morning on the Noapara High School premises. Teachers and students from about 150 educational institutions under Raojan upazila participated in the event. During the function, a discussion programme was also held with Alhaj Mohammad Rafiq, the elder brother of the director of the foundation, Alhaj Jasim Uddin, in the chair.

Raojan Upazila Executive Officer Zisan Bin Majed spoke as the chief guest at the discussion where Maulana Faridul Islam Ansari, representative of Alhaj Jasim Uddin Foundation, and journalist SM Yusuf Uddin, among others, were present.

The foundation's founder and chairman, Alhaj Mohammad Jasim Uddin, a prominent businessman from the United Arab Emirates, inaugurated the scholarship distribution ceremony through a video conference.

The main discussant was Mohammad Habib Ullah Master, Senior Vice President of the District Teachers' Association and Headmaster of Noapara School.

Special guests, including Raozan Upazila Assistant Commissioner Ang Ching Marma, Raozan Police Station Officer-in-Charge Md. Monirul Islam Bhuiyan, Raozan Upazila Academic Supervisor Sajal Chandra Chanda, Foundation Director Mokhtar Ahmed, Abu Taher, Yasinul Haque, Faruk Azam, Sarwar Hossain, Ahmadul Haque, Khasrul Amin Chowdhury, Foundation Manager Jahedul Islam, and others delivered speeches.

The speakers at the discussion said that such initiatives to spread the light of education will play an important role in advancing the future generation.

The speakers commented that it is rare in the country for a person like expatriate businessman Alhaj Jasim Uddin to take on the responsibility of such a large number of students and provide scholarships for the entire year. The speakers said that if Jasim Uddin can continue this program, the number of students who are falling behind in education will decrease significantly. In addition, the lives of students from poor families will improve.
