More than 500 different species of trees were planted in various educational institutions including Nabinagar Government College and Government High School in Brahmanbaria on Tuesday marking the 71st founding anniversary of Awami League,
The planting was inaugurated by Md. Habibur Rahman, member of forest and environment sub-committee of Awami League.
Meanwhile, Habibur Rahman told local reporters that under the direction of Hon’ble Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina, the 'mother' of humanity, a nationwide tree planting program is underway in Nabinagar under the leadership of Central Awami League Forest and Environment Secretary Jannetar Delwar Hossain.
He further said, “Let’s all stay at home to get rid of this deadly novel coronavirus infection, wear masks and maintain social distance and plant trees at home to balance the environment.”
Nabinagar Government High School headmaster Md Abu Mosha, former student leader Upazila Press Club president Sanjay Saha, Upazila Juba League general secretary Ashraful Islam Ripon, former student leaders Abdullah Al Roman, Abdullah Al Mamun, Omar Farooq, Khandaker Monir Hossain, Kamrul Islam were present. Khan, Tahsin Bhuiyan Ruman of College Chhatra League, Gias Uddin, Azad Hossain, Ariful Islam, Md. Shakil, Taharul Islam Hridoy, Didarul Hasan and others were present on the occasion.
