A total of 500 poor families in Ghorsal Union Parishad under Jhenaidah received the financial aid from the Prime Minister’s relief fund on the Union Parishad compound on Wednesday.
Each of the distressed family received Taka 200 where a total of Taka 2.5 lakh was disbursed.
Ghorshal Union Parishad (UP) Chairman Parvez Masud Lilton presided over the programme while, Jhenidah-4 MP Anwarul Azim Anar distributed the relief items as the chief guest.
Vice chairman of Kaliganj upazila parishad Shibly Noman, concerned UP tag officer Neuton Bayeen and union Awami League general secretary Ranajit Kumar Biswas among others remain present.
Some of the poor family members receiving upon the financial assistance expressed their satisfaction and gratitude to the PM when she had sanctioned grant for them.
