Chattogram Deputy Commissioner (DC) Mominur Rahman has donated food items provided as Prime Minister’s gifts to 500 homeless people in Laldia Char area in the district on Thursday.
Each of the food packets included rice, pulses, soybean oil, potatoes and soap. Chattogram Deputy Commissioner Mohammad Mominur Rahman was the chief guest at the relief distribution function at Laldia Char Primary School ground in Bandar Nagar.
The Deputy Commissioner said a country free from hunger and poverty has been built under the leadership of Hon'ble Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina. The Prime Minister has instructed that no man should go without food. Homeless people are being given houses as gifts in Mujib year.
Meanwhile, the Deputy Commissioner promised to provide permanent accommodation for the temporary residents of Laldia Char.
