In Kishoreganj's Haor, only 50 per cent of the paddy has been harvested so far in the Boro season. Meanwhile, the Meteorological Department predicted heavy storms and hailstorms at the end of this week. Besides, due to heavy rains in Asam and Meghalaya of India, the water flowing from upstream will increase the water of Surma, Kushiyara and Manu rivers in Sylhet, Moulvibazar, Habiganj districts.

This is likely to submerge the lower reaches of the Haor region As a result, thousands of farmers are busy cutting, transporting, threshing and threshing paddy. However, the farmers of Haor are worried about the weather forecast.

According to Agriculture Department sources, only 50 per cent of the land has been harvested till April 24. By April 30, 80 percent of the land will be harvested. But in the meantime, heavy rains are forecast. Heavy rains are likely in Sylhet, Sunamganj, Netrokona, Sherpur and other districts from April 24. In this way, the water of different rivers including Surma, Kushiyara, Manu, Meghna can increase and the boro paddy in the lower area of the haor can be submerged in water.
