50 families getting houses in Ctg

Zilla Parishad is currently constructing houses for 50 homeless families in the district as a gift from the Prime Minister on the occasion of the birth centenary of Father of the Nation Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman. 

These houses are being given to the permanent residents of Chattogram who have land but lack houses.  Under this project, construction work of 50 houses in 15 upazilas and metropolitan of the district is almost complete. The construction cost for each house with a tube well is5 lakh 68 thousand 848 taka, said district officials.

Chattogram Zilla Parishad Chairman MA Salam said the houses were being built as a gift to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina on the occasion of Mujib year.  Only those who have a home but cannot afford to build a house have been selected.  However, the design of each house is different. Since Chattogram is a natural disaster prone area, the issue has been kept in mind during the design.

Chattogram Zilla Parishad Chief Executive Officer Shabbir Iqbal said that this houses being given as gifts by Chattogram Zilla Parishad are being built very strongly.  Pillars, beams were built with reinforced concrete curing method to strengthen the houses.  In the future, if anyone can afford it, they can build a two-storey house because, the basement of the house has been strengthened.

  CEO Shabbir Iqbal said their needs have been given priority in the construction of houses.  Each house has a bathroom, kitchen, bed room, drawing room and dining room.  However, the residents can use these rooms as bed rooms at their own convenience. Necessary arrangements were made to make these houses suitable for a decent living condition.
