A mobile court in Shailkupa upazila had conducted drives at a number of fertilizer selling centres at Sarutia Bazer on Thursday evening. They fined Taka one lakh to five dealers when they were allegedly ignoring the rules and norms of conducting fertilizer business cheating the innocent farmers.
The dealers fined in the mobile courts are Azad and Aftab Tk 10 thousand each and sub dealer Shovon Tk 20 thousand. Ealier the court conducted drives at Bangladesh Chemical Industries Corporation (BCIC) dealers Nayeb Ali Joarder and Nurul Islan for Taka 50 thousand.
Local administration sources said most of the BCIC dealers as well as sub dealers deputed for supplying the fertilizers and pesticides at the government fixed prices among the farmers. But they have been breaching the trust and norms of the BCIC and doing corruption. The court had warned them to conduct the fertilizer and pesticides business honestly. Otherwise they will have face music by the administration.
The sources said the drive against dishonest fertilizer and pesticides dealer will continue until and unless they are nor refrained from adopting irregularities for the interest of the farmers.
