5 Rohingyas held from Moheshpur border

The Border Guard Bangladesh have detained five Rohinga people from Mandertala Bazar area under Moheshpur upazila on Tuesday night. 

BGB 58 battalion additional director Mehedi Hasan Khan said they were informed that a group of Rohinga people were taking preparations to cross the border through Jadabpur border observation pharee (BOP) area about 8 kilometres inside the Bagladesh border. The BGB men detained them at about 9.30 pm on Tuesday.

The detained were identified as Farooq Mia, 20, son of Yunus Mia, Farooq Mia’s wife Kulsuma Begum, 16, Hubayet Mia, 19, son of Alam Mia, Nuru Mia, 19, son of Saber Ahmed and Mustafizur Rahman, son of Selim Mia of Madhuchhara Rohinga camp in Ukhia of Cox’s Bazer. 

Further, the bordr guards had detained broker Nazmul Hossin, son of Anarul Mia of Jalalpur village in Moheshpur and seized his autovan used for carrying the Rohinga people.

The BGB official said the detained had confessed that they had fledaway from the Rohinga camp for entering in to Indian territory for thier believed better living in India. A case was filed with Moheshpur police station and the detained were handed over to Moheshpur police staion under the passport act, BGB sources said.
