5 lakh children to get Vitamin A capsule in Bogura

On January 11, a total of 4 lakh 73 thousand 29 children will be fed vitamin A capsules in Bogura district.  This was informed at the orientation meeting of the journalists held at Bogura Civil Surgeon's Office on Wednesday morning regarding the National Vitamin A Plus Campaign’s 2nd round. This campaign is organized on the initiative of Institute of Public Health and Nutrition and Directorate General of Health Services

At the meeting, District Civil Surgeon Dr. Gousul Azim Chowdhury said the health department is aware that no propaganda is spread about this capsule. For the purpose of campaign awareness, Imams have been advised to make the people aware at all mosques on Friday.

In the district, a total of 53 thousand 8 hundred and 96 children aged 6 to 11 months will be fed blue capsules and 4 lakh 19 thousand 1 hundred and 33 children aged 12 to 59 months will be fed red capsules.

5 thousand 5 hundred and 72 volunteers will serve during this campaign in 2 thousand 7 hundred 86 centers throughout the district. 

Among others Bogura Sadar Upazila Health and Family Welfare Officer Dr Samir Hossain Mishu, Deputy Civil Surgeon Dr Mostafizur Rahman, Medical Officer Dr Asma Haque, journalists Akhtaruzzaman, Samudra Haque, Moha Akhand, Anwar Parvez, Abdus Salam Babu and H Alim spoke at the event.
