Five men were arrested for allegedly assaulting a madrasa student in Natore on Thursday morning. The victim is currently undergoing treatment at Natore Sadar Hospital. Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Natore Sadar Police Station Kazi Jalal Uddin, said a teacher of book department of Gauripur Meherullah Hafezia Madrasa, repeatedly assaulted a student. At one stage, the student was admitted to the Sadar Hospital when he fell ill. Later, the family members of the student informed the matter to the madrasa authority but they threatened the student’s family.
The victim’s family filed a complaint with Natore Sadar Police Station. Police conducted a raid at the madrasa and nabbed five men including Mofasher Ali, secretary of the madrasa. Shadat Hossain, the main accused, managed to flee the scene sensing presence of the law enforcers. Police said “The operation is underway to arrest him.”
