5 drug dealers arrested in Karnaphuli

The Directorate of Narcotics Control has arrested five drug dealers with 8250 pieces of Yaba in a separate operation in Karnaphuli Upazila of Chattogram. They were arrested by carrying out these raids in Shah Amanat Bridge Toll Plaza area under Karnaphuli police station last Sunday from 1:00 am to 3:00 am. 

Among them, 1760 pieces of Yaba to Md. Shafiq, son of Mumtaz Mia of New Palayan Para village of Teknaf, Cox's Bazar district, 1000 pieces of Yaba to Md. Mithun Hossain, son of Abdul Malek of North Gotmari village under Hatibandha police station of Lalmonirhat, Noor Hashim and Teknaf Jadimura, sons of deceased Khuilla Mia of Ukhia Rohingya refugee camp in Cox's Bazar.  Md Khaled, son of Md Shafi of Shalbagan Rohingya refugee camp, was arrested with 2000 pieces of Yaba and Fatema Begum, daughter of Taiyab Ali Howladar of Shanirakhra Dhaniya area under Jatrabari police station of Dhaka, was arrested with 3490 pieces of Yaba.

 Assistant Director of Narcotics Control Directorate Chattogram Metro Office Somen Mondal confirmed this information.

 He said that five drug dealers were arrested in a separate operation in the area adjacent to the toll plaza of Shah Amanat Bridge on Sunday night.  Later four separate cases were filed against them in Karnaphuli police station.

 He also said that if they were produced in the Metropolitan Magistrate's Court on Monday afternoon after showing arrest in these cases, the judge ordered them to be sent to jail.
