Police recovered five bodies from different areas at four police stations in Narayanganj on Tuesday. Two of them were killed in rival clashes, while three other bodies were recovered.
On them, two people were found dead at Sadar upazila while two others at Bandar upazila and a man at Araihazar upazila.
Four of the deceased were identified as Mizan Sikdar, 28, son of Tukku Sikdar of Kaittakhali under Bandar police station, Suruz Mia, 40, son of Ohed Ali of Bogadi village under Araihazar police station, Barek Mia, 49, son of Samad Mia of Shanti Nagar under Bandar police station, and Shefali Begum, 42, wife of Abdul Hamid of Lal Kha area under Fatulla police station. The body of an unknown youth was recovered from Mizmizi area under Shidhirganj police station.
Police said that Mizan was killed by his rival who took lend five hundred taka from him named Mokshed. He was stabbed to death.
On the other hand, Suruz Mia was beaten to death by his rivals on land selling dispute. All the bodies were sent to Narayanganj General Hospital morgue for post mortem. Police arrested five people in connection of two murder incidents.
