Chattogram City Corporation Mayor Md Rezaul Karim Chowdhury said that Bangladesh is ahead of many developed countries due to Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina's visionary steps in dealing with Covid-19. This role of the Prime Minister has been appreciated in the World Darbar. Bangladesh's success in procuring and administering the Covid vaccine on time has been recognized globally. Chattogram City Corporation should maintain the success it has achieved in providing vaccination against Corona.
He said this while inaugurating the vaccination program for all children aged 5-11 years at City Corporation Municipal Model School premises in the city on Wednesday morning.
CCC Health Standing Committee President Councilor Zahar Lal Hazari presided. Councilor Abdus Salam Masum, Health Officer (Acting) Nashim Bhuiyan, Dr. Imam Hossain Rana, Primary Education Officer Liton Barua, Principal Sahedul Kabir Chowdhury spoke.
CCC mayor said that since the students are young, every school in the city will be vaccinated by going to school. 164 teams in 41 wards of the city corporation will participate in vaccination at the same time. At least more than 4 lakh students in City Corporation area including Kinder Garden and Forkani Madrasa, Orphanage will get vaccinated.
He urged the ward councilors to cooperate fully to make the immunization program a success and said that we should ensure that no student is left out of the opportunity to receive Pfizer's special type of vaccination for all children aged 5-11 years. He said that due to the visionary steps taken by the Prime Minister in dealing with Covid-19, Bangladesh was ahead of many developed countries. World leaders lauded the Prime Minister's role. Councilors will assist in ensuring that no child is left out due to compulsory birth registration in immunizing children.
The mayor said that the appreciation of the city dwellers in the health service during the late mayor ABM Mohiuddin Chowdhury's time became neutral. Since I took office, I have been working to restore health care to its previous level.
