The 46th founding anniversary of Bangladesh Jatiyatabadi Jubo Dal, youth wing of Bangladesh Nationalist Party (BNP), was observed at Ishwardi of Pabna district on Sunday.
Upazila and municipal unit of Jubo Dal undertook several programmes to celebrate the day, including rally, hoisting national flag and party flag, providing free medical care, planting trees and Khatm al-Qur'an.
The program started at 9.00am in front of the Railgate BNP party office in the city, with the hoisting the national flag and the flag of the organization. Before this, the leaders and activists of the Jubo Dal came to the road in front of the party office with a procession from different areas of the upazila and town.
After hoisting the flag, municipal Jubo Dal convener Zakir Hossain Jewel presided over the rally. Upazila BNP leaders Ahsan Habib, Alauddin Biswas, Humayon Kabir Dulal, municipal BNP leaders SM Fazlur Rahman, Bisthu Kumar, Islam Hossain Jewel, Anwar Hossain Jani, Abu Sayed Liton, municipal Jubo Dal member secretary AKM Sajeduzzaman Jitu, municipal Convener of Jatiyatabadi Swechchasebak Dal Mamunur Rashid Nantu and others spoke at that time.
After the rally free medical services were provided to people from 10.00am to 3.00pm beside the party office. Municipal Jubo Dal convener Zakir Hossain Jewel informed that the medical center offered treatment for all types of illnesses by specialized doctors, along with blood group identification and RBS test reports. Moreover, trees were planted in various parts of the town on behalf of the Jubodal, in memory of those who were abducted and killed during the rule of Awami League government. In the afternoon, the Khatm al-Qur'an programme was arranged at various orphanages of the town and prayers were offered for the salvation of the departed soul of Shaheed President Ziaur Rahman and all other who were abducted or killed by Awami League government.
