The testing of samples of suspected coronavirus infected patients is going on in full swing at the Coronavirus Detection Laboratory set at the Department of Virology of Rajshahi Medical College Hospital (RMCH), informed sources of RMCH.
During 24-hour, the laboratory received 43 more samples for testing of coronavirus infection from various places of Rajshahi division, informed Dr Bulbul Hasan, Head of the Department of Microbiology of RMC.
Dr Hasan further mentioned, the laboratory with its equipment has a capacity of testing a total of 94 samples at a time and it usually takes six to eight hours to taste a sample. He said, so far 26 samples were tested at the laboratory and reports of those have been prepared and sent to IEDCR for further action.
The Coronavirus (COVID-19) Detection Laboratory at the Virology Department of RMC was set up on April-1 to test samples collected from bodies of suspected Coronavirus infected persons.
